లక్ష్యం/గమ్యం నిర్ణయించుకుని నిమగ్నమై కృషిచేస్తేనే అనుకున్నది సాధించగలమని AIM -Aspire Involve  Make it happen కాన్సెప్ట్ ను ఒక ప్రోగ్రాంగా శ్రీగౌతమి స్మార్ట్ స్కూల్ విద్యార్ధులకు ఇంటర్నేషనల్ టె్రయినర్ గంపా నాగేశ్వరరావు చూపించారు.

అమెరికాలోని జెసిఎ యూనివర్సిటీ హెడ్ కోచ్, సుప్రసిద్ద సైకాలజిస్ట్ గంపానాగేశ్వరరావు మానవవనరుల శిక్షణా వ్యవహారాల నిపుణుడు. దేశదేశాల్లోని పలు సంస్ధల్లో శిక్షణ ఇస్తున్నారు. ఈవిషయంగా అప్పటి ముఖ్యమంత్రి చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు నుంచి అవార్డు కూడా అందుకున్నారు.

శ్రీగౌతమి స్మార్ట్ స్కూల్ ప్రతిభా పురస్కారాలు -2013 కార్యక్రమం తరువాత గంపానాగేశ్వరరావు పవర్ పాయింట్ ద్వారా విద్యార్ధులకోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా ఒక ఓరియెంటేషన్, టె్రయినింగ్ నిర్వహించారు.

సొంత లక్ష్యం (Goal) లేనివాళ్ళు ఇతరుల లక్ష్యాలు సాధించడానికి మాత్రమే పనిచేయవలసి వుంటుందని వివరించారు. ఈ విషయం అవగతం కావడానికి విద్యార్ధులతో ఆయన అనేక యాకి్టవిటీలు చేయించారు. ఆప్రేరణవల్ల విద్యార్ధులు తమతమ లక్ష్యాలను నిస్సంకోచంగా, నిర్భయంగా వివరించగలిగారు.

ఈ తరహా కార్యక్రమాలు ఇప్పటికే అనేకం నిర్వహించడం స్కూలుకు కొత్తకాదని, విద్యార్ధులకు ఉపయోగపడే ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలను ఎంతటి వ్యయప్రయాసలకైనా రాజీపడకుండా నిర్వహించగలమని కరస్పాండెంట్ సుంకర రవికుమార్ ప్రకటించారు.

 

ప్రతిభా పురస్కారాలు

వేర్వేరు పరీక్షలలో అత్యధిక మార్కులు సాధించిన శ్రీగౌతమి స్మార్ట్ స్కూల్ పూర్వ విద్యార్ధులకు "ప్రతిభా పురస్కార్ 2013" అవార్డులను స్కూల్ అందజేసింది.

విద్యార్ధులు,తల్లిదండ్రులు,ఉపాధ్యాయులు పాల్గొన్న ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో హెచ్చుమార్కులతో ప్రతిభ కనబరచిన విద్యార్ధులకు అవార్డులు సత్కారాలను జెసిఎ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ టె్రయినర్, అమెరికాలోని జెసిఎ యూనివర్సిటీ హెడ్ కోచ్, సుప్రసిద్ధ సైకాలజిస్ట్ గంపా నాగేశ్వరరావు అందచేశారు.

2013 ఎస్ ఎస్ సి లో 9.8 గ్రేడింగ్ సాధించిన 28 మంది, CEEP-2013 లో రాష్ట్రస్ధాయి 82 వర్యాంకు సాధించిన విద్యార్ది, ఎంసెట్ లో 1000 లోపు ర్యాంకులు సాధించిన 8 మంది, ఐఐటిలో మంచి ర్యాంకులు సాధించిన 6గురు విద్యార్ధులు ఈ పురస్కారాలను అందుకున్నారు.

శ్రీగౌతమి స్మార్ట్ స్కూల్ పూర్వ విద్యార్ధి అయిన ప్రముఖ హోమియో ప్రాక్టిషనర్ కొప్పిశెట్టి రామకృష్ణ విశిష్ట అతిధిగా పాల్గొన్నారు. ప్రతిభను ప్రోత్సహించి అందరు విద్యార్ధులకు స్పూర్తివంతంగా వుండాలనే ప్రతిభా పురస్కారాలను తలపెట్టామని కరస్పాండెంట్ సుంకర రవికుమార్ వివరించారు.

The photograph attached was taken by the crew on board the Columbia during its last mission, on a cloudless day.

The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting. Half of the picture is in night. The bright dots you see are the cities' lights.

The top part of Africa is the Sahara Desert .

Note that the lights are already on in Holland , Paris , and Barcelona , and that's it's still daylight in Dublin , London , Lisbon , and Madrid.

The sun is still shining on the Strait of Gibraltar . The Mediterranean Sea is already in darkness.

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean you can see the Azores Islands; below them to the right are the Madeira Islands ; a bit below are the Canary Islands; and further South, close to the farthest western point of Africa , are the Cape Verde Islands.

Note that the Sahara is huge and can be seen clearly both during day time and night time.

To the left, on top, is Greenland , totally frozen.

The ‘human computer’, ‘mental calculator’, math whiz Shakuntala Devi passed away

The ‘human computer’, ‘mental calculator’, math whiz Shakuntala Devi passed away at Bengaluru early on Sunday aged 80.

(4-2-1929 to 21-4-2013)

Ms. Devi, who was suffering from respiratory problems and later developed heart and kidney complications, had been in a Bangalore hospital for two weeks.

Ms. Devi held a Guinness World Record for her lightning-speed calculations. Among her distinctions was her ability to, given a date in the last century, mentally ascertain the day.

In 1977, she calculated the 23rd root of a 201-digit number in just 50 seconds. In 1980, she multiplied two 13-digit numbers given to her randomly by the Computer Department of Imperial College, London.

“It is sad that her techniques to simplify math were not used by educational institutions,” said D.C. Shivdev, a trustee of the Shakuntala Devi Educational Foundation Public Trust.

“She strove to simplify math for students and help them get over their math phobia. It is a pity that her techniques died with her.”

She authored several books including Fun with Numbers, Puzzles to Puzzle You, and Awaken the Genius in Your Child.

Jnanapith!award What ? Why ? How ?

The 48th Jnanpith award for the year 2012 was announced on 17th April, 2013 and was conferred to Telugu novelist, short-story writer and poet Ravuri Bharadhwaja for his work Paakudu Raallu

(Late) Viswanadha Satyanarayana in 1970 for his Ramayana Kalpavruksham ( an interpretation on Ramanayam ) CINARE (Dr C Narayana Reddy) in 1988 for his Viswambhara (a compilation of poems) were recipients of this award


The Jnanpith Award is a literary award. Along with the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship,it is one of the two most prestigious literary honours in India .The award was instituted in 1961. Any Indian citizen who writes in any of the official languages of India is eligible for the honour.

It is presented by the Bharatiya Jnanpith, a trust founded by the Sahu Jain family, the publishers of the The Times of India newspaper.

The name of the award is taken from Sanskrit words jnāna and pīṭha (knowledge-seat). It carries a cheque for 7 lakh, a citation plaque and a bronze replica of Saraswati, the Indian goddess of knowledge, music, and the arts.

Prior to 1982, the awards were given for a single work by a writer; since then, the award has been given for a lifetime contribution to Indian literature. Nine individuals [Including the 2009 award which is being shared by two Hindi writers] writing in Hindi have been honoured with the award, eight in Kannada, five in Bengali and Malayalam, four in Oriya and Urdu and three each in Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu and two in Assamese and Tamil.

Starting with the Bengali writer Ashapoorna Devi in 1976, seven women writers have won the award so far. The other recipients include Amrita Pritam (1981, Punjabi), Mahadevi Varma (1982, Hindi), Qurratulain Hyder (1989, Urdu), Mahasweta Devi (1996, Bengali), Indira Goswami (2000, Assamese) and Pratibha ray (2011, Odia).

The award announcements have lately been lagging behind the award-years. The awards for the years 2005 and 2006 were announced on 22 November 2008, and were awarded to the Hindi writer Kunwar Narayan for 2005 and jointly to Konkani writer Ravindra Kelekar and Sanskrit scholar Satya Vrat Shastri for 2006.

Satya Vrat Shastri is the first Sanskrit poet to be conferred the award since its inception. The awards for the 45th and 46th Jnanpith for the years 2009 and 2010 respectively, were announced on 20 September 2011.

The 45th award was jointly conferred on Hindi littérateurs Amar Kant and Sri Lal Sukla, and the 46th on the Kannada littérateur Chandrashekhara Kambara.

Our Girls and Boys are Pro Active....

"We need to create more time to study by cut down TV watching time up to twenty minutes" this is the answer from a small group of eighth class Boys and Girls in Sri Gowthami Smart School when asked about hurdles in getting subject in to minds

Three senior journalists surprised to know that these 12/13 years boys and girls are able to analyse on a task given with solutions.

Correspondent Sri Ravikumar Explained them about this extra curricular programme "be a leader".

To inculcate Be a Leader concept in to teenagers school customised Stephen R.Coveys programme in to our environment and conditions with experts assistance. even few professionals along with teachers are guiding students to be " Pro Active" which is the first step to groom as a leader.

Procuring experts to design is not a very very big deal, but creating time of 40 periods for the class became Herculean task

How ever school found tremendous involvement and enthusiasm among the young students in presenting the hurdles and solutions to achieve goals. Then only school thought to display the presentations which explain the properly tuned groomed 'Pro Active' mind set of budding pupil.

A formal selection from presentations was done by three journalists , they distributed prizes also.

'VEELLU SAAMANYULU KAADU' - "These boys and girls are extraordinary" - this is the comment of those three senior journalists of Rajahmundry city.

ఆంధ్ర దేశంలో బ్రహ్మ సమాజం స్థాపించాడు. యువజన సంఘాల స్థాపన కూడా వీరేశలింగంతోనే మొదలయింది. సమాజ సేవ కొరకు హితకారిణి అనే ధర్మ సంస్థను స్థాపించి, తన యావదాస్తిని దానికి ఇచ్చేసాడు. 25 సంవత్సరాల పాటు రాజమండ్రిలో తెలుగు పండితుడిగా పనిచేసి, మద్రాసు ప్రెసిడెన్సీ కళాశాలలో తెలుగు పండితుడిగా ఐదేళ్ళు పని చేసాడు. తాను నమ్మిన సత్యాన్ని, సిద్దాంతాన్ని తు.చ. తప్పక్కుండా పాటించిన వ్యక్తి ఆయన.

Here is an interesting reaction reflection and realisation of a ninth class boy of our school

On a Sunday he was playing a game on laptop at his home. His mother assigned a small house hold work. He finished it and containing the computer game. Again mother asked to do some small work. He finished and playing ..again mom gave some work ..

Then the boy understood that his mother was not willing him to play on computer and to divert him only assigning work

He was unable to tolerate the mothers way of interrupting and shouted at her

The mother became sad with son s attitude. Boy noticed his mother' feelings
Analysed the sequence of incident ...his reaction and mothers reflection

Finally realised that the way he reacted is not correct. He felt that he should have
Convinced mom to permit to play a while as it was holiday

The boy himself wrote this experience

First Ever Hackathon by the Planning Commission on 6-7 April

Sh. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Sh. Sam Pitroda to deliver the opening address

More than 1900 participants at 10 locations across the country have registered for the first ever 32 hour Hackathon by the Planning Commission on the 12th Plan. The locations include University of Jammu, IIT Delhi, Delhi University, Aligarh Muslim University, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, TISS Mumbai, IIIT Hyderabad, IISc Bangalore and IIT Madras.

The Hackathon will be held on 6th and 7th April, 2013. The opening address will be conducted via a webcast at 11 AM on 6th April by the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Sh. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Adviser to PM, Sh. Sam Pitroda, and Secretary, Planning Commission, Smt. Sindhushree Khullar. The webcast can be viewed live by the public at webcast.gov.in/hackathon. To answer questions on the Hackathon, Sh. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Sh. Sam Pitroda will be doing a live chat with BBC India via its Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/bbchindi.

సమాధానాల కోసం కేంద్ర ప్రణాళికా సంఘం దేశంలో మొదటిసారిగా ఏప్రిల్ 6,7 తేదీల్లో మొత్తం 32 గంటల పాటు "హాక్ థోన్" నిర్వహిస్తోంది. దీన్ని 2000 మందికి పైగా సాప్ట్ వేర్ డెవలపర్లయిన యువతీ యువకుల మహాసమ్మేళనం అనుకోవచ్చు.

వీరంతా ఒకేచోట వుండరు. ఢిల్లీ, ఆగ్రా, ముంబై, బెంగుళూరు, కాన్పూరు, చెన్నై, హైదరాబాద్ నగరాల్లో ఐఐటి, ఐఐఐటి, ఇతర ప్రతిష్టాత్మక ఐటి సంస్ధల విద్యార్ధులు వారివారి క్యాంపస్ లనుంచే ఇందులో పాల్గొంటారు.

ఆరో తేదీ ఉదయం 11గంటలకు ప్రణాళికా సంఘం వైస్ చైర్మన్ మాంటేక్ సింగ్ ఆహ్లూవాలియా సాంకేతిక సలహాదారు సాంపిటో్రడా, సెక్రటరీ సింధుశ్రీ కుల్హార్ వెబ్ కాస్ట్ లో ఉపన్యసిస్తారు. పార్టిసిపెంట్స్ ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానాలిస్తారు.

ఈ ఆవగాహన 12 ప్రణాళికా అమలులో ప్రజలకు సుళువుగా ఉపయోగపడేలా సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ ప్రోగ్రామ్స్, అప్లికేషన్స్, మొబైల్ ఫోన్లమీదకూడా పనిచేసే అప్లికేషన్లను డెవలపర్లు తయారు చేస్తారు.

ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ డెవలప్ మెంటులో భారతీయ యువతీయువకుల స్ధానం 30 శాతం కంటే ఎక్కువే. ఇలాంటి నైపుణ్యాన్ని ప్రజాప్రయోజనాలకోసం వినియోగించుకోవాలన్న కేంద్రప్రణాళికా సంఘం ఆలోచన అభినందనీయం

దేశంలోనే మొదటి "సాంకేతిక నిపుణుల సమ్మేళనం (Hackathon) లో పాల్గొనడానికి ఉవ్విళ్ళూరుతున్న యువశక్తి రిజిష్టే్రషన్ కోసం ప్రయత్నంచిన ప్రతీసారీ 'సర్వర్ డౌన్' అన్న సమాధానం రావడమే చిన్న నిరుత్సాహమైంది.

International Children's Book Day

Since 1967, on or around Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, 2 April, International Children's Book Day (ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books.

Each year a different National Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) has the opportunity to be the international sponsor of ICBD. It decides upon a theme and invites a prominent author from the host country to write a message to the children of the world and a well-known illustrator to design a poster. These materials are used in different ways to promote books and reading. Many IBBY Sections promote ICBD through the media and organize activities in schools and public libraries. Often ICBD is linked to celebrations around children's books and other special events that may include encounters with authors and illustrators, writing competitions or announcements of book awards.

Miss. Radha Alekhya passed out SSC-2007 from our School now Studying B.Tech in 4 year in IIT- Bhuvaneswar. She got selected for COGNIZANT TECHNOLOGIES Chennai to work a software engineer.

Shashank ....achieving dreams!

The Sri Gowthami Smart School has honored Dr .K. Shashank in the “FROLIC FEST- ANNUAL MEET 2013” on 19 March 2013.

His father Sri Diwakar is a Bank officer with SBI at palakol mother late Smt Jayasree was a lecturer in Govt women's College Rajahmundry

Dr. K. Shashank, a student of Sri Gowthami did his schooling from Nursery to 10 Standard and scored 549 / 600 Marks in SSC Examination 2002 and stood in third position in the School.

He got the State 10th Rank in Intermediate Examinations in 2004, for which he was awarded Pratibha Award for academic excellence by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Shashank had been ranked 233 in EAMCET 2004 and admitted into MBBS at Andhra Medical College, inVisakhapatnam.

He Graduated in MBBS in the year 2010 in First Class.

He prepared for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) in 2010, and passed through 3 steps and 4 examinations in USMLE.

After he cleared all the Steps and Exams of USMLE, he applied for Residency (Post Graduation in USA), in USA and got accepted into BASSETT MEDICAL CENTER, COOPERSTOWN, affiliated to COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK.

He will be doing his Post graduation (M.D) in Internal Medicine.
He has his plans to go for Super Specialization to become a Gastroenterologist.

పరీక్ష నీ భవితకోసమే కాని, మా కోసం కాదు. ఇంతవరకు ఎలా మంచిఫలితాలు సాధించావో అలాగే ఈ పరీక్షలు రాయమని పిల్లల్ని ప్రోత్సహించాలి.

*చాలినంత నిద్ర
పరీక్షలకు కొన్నిరోజుల ముందే పునశ్చరణ తగినంత ముందుగా చేయకుండా పరీక్షల ముందే మొదలెడితే పిల్లలు పరీక్ష రోజున అలసిపోతారు. చాలినంత నిద్ర వుండేలా చూడండి.

*పోషకాహారం
రోజూ పిల్లలకు పోషకవిలువలు గల ఆహారాన్ని ఇవ్వాలి. పరీక్షల సమయంలో మరింత శ్రద్ధగా, జాగ్రత్తగా, మరింత శక్తిని, బలాన్ని, ఉత్సాహాన్నిచ్చే ఆహారం ఇవ్వాలి. సరిగా తినకపోతే పిల్లలు నెర్వల్నెస్కి, అనవసర ఆందోళనలు, భయాలకు లోనవుతారు. రకరకాల పండ్ల రసాలు ఇవ్వడం వలన వాళ్ళకు తక్షణ శక్తి లభిస్తుంది. చదువు పేరుతో వారు భోజనం మానకుండా చూడడం అత్యవసరం.

గతం మార్కుల గురించి ప్రస్తావన వద్దు
అయిపోయిన పరీక్షల గురించి మరిచిపోయేలా పిల్లల్ని ప్రోత్సహించండి. లేకపోతే నిన్న పరీక్ష ఎలా రాశాను అన్నఆలోచనలో ఉంటారు. మార్నాటి పరీక్షపై పరీక్షపై సరిగా దృష్టి కేంద్రీకరించలేకపోవచ్చు.

A Role Model..

one of our Alumnus Annamadevula Ravi Teja who secured SECOND rank in GATE -2013 in Electronics Division.

He has studied with Sri Gowthami in IIT stream since 2003, and passed out In SSC-2007 from this institution.

Mr. Ravi Teja is a 4th Year Student of NIT Warangal in B. Tech, as of now.

Preparing Excellence in early Child Hood Education

Preparing Excellence in early Child Hood Education we started it with "Hats On"Ceremony on 14th March,2013

One idea is to give each child a certificate of recognition. We did it in a fun way to build positive traits of the child’s personality.

Ideas for special recognition we included , for example…
Child most likely to become a movie star (Likes dramatic play)
Child most likely to become a superhero (Likes to help others)
Child most likely to become an engineer (Likes to build with blocks)
Child most likely to become a dentist (Child who recently has lost the most teeth)

We are happy that the purpose has been fulfilled very much as we found "graduated" children were in great spirits anticipated.
